Since its inception, the Kentucky Three-Day Event has changed names several times from the Kentucky Horse Trials to the World Championships and finally to the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event. Regardless of the name, the event remains one of the most prestigious in the equestrian world, and through all the changes, one name remains a constant: Bob Mickler's. As a vendor featuring high-quality clothing and accessories for the equestrian lifestyle, Bob Mickler's is proud to be a sponsor of the 2013 Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event.

When we look back at our history with the Three-Day Event, we cannot help but notice the changes through the years. Some of those changes seemed small at the time, but only now do we recognize their significance.

In 1977, we participated in the very first Trade Fair for the Kentucky Horse Trials at the Kentucky Horse Park. We were one of nine vendors who set up in a 3-sided tent with an overhang. There were a range of items for sale from fine antiques to assorted colored bandanas. We displayed a few items including bandanas, and we do not recall if we had one sale.

The next year we participated in the 1978 World Championships at the Kentucky Horse Park. As seasoned vendors, we knew we needed to add more products. The crowds were huge that year with over 100 vendors in the "European-style" Trade Fair area, and the event continued to grow in the years that followed.

In 1981, the event gathered new growth and support when Rolex Watch U.S.A. became a corporate sponsor. Bob Mickler's grew along with the help of their vendor participation. That was the same year when a new footwear company called Ariat International showed up with a truckload of lumber and built a 10' x 12' stage by hand.

Through the years, we have continued to participate as a vendor and sponsor, and the Three-Day Event has become the highlight of our spring sales season. Each year, we re-create our store experience on site in our vendor tent with floors, dressing rooms, online credit-card processing, and friendly customer service.
